You are the HR manager for a banking organization with a total of 150 employees located in five branches, each within 120 miles from your corporate office. You report to the bank CEO. You have one HR assistant working for you.
You began your employment last year and hit the ground running. But, you have not focused on building a talent management (training and development) program for your organization. The previous HR manager had many strengths, but sustaining and building upon the strengths of a talented workforce was not one of them.
Whenever you visit a branch it seems the manager asks you for money to send one or more employees to training seminars—some even to exotic places. To date, you have no idea who has attending training in the past, and where the biggest needs are now. You want to be sure to consider all aspects of all branches as you plan your talent management (training & development) budget for the next 12 months.
In the first page of your paper, summarize what you have learned from your reading and research about training and development needs analysis and why it is important. Be specific and provide an employer example.
In pages two and three–develop a specific plan/process that you would follow (step by step) to learn what training and development needs actually exist within your organization. Explain why you have chosen those steps to take. Who would be responsible for what? Be sure to be as banking-specific as possible.
Make reasonable assumptions as you develop your plan.
